The INSME Association includes the following typologies of Members:
- Full Members
- Associate Members
- Observers
Membership annual fees vary according to the member typology and the typology of the body applying for membership
Each membership typology provides access to a set of services and benefits:
- Full Members
Right to be elected to the post of the governing bodies of the Association (President, Vice-President, Secretary General, INSME Board)
Priority for the promotion of their organisations and activities through the INSME portal, the INSME newsletter (by putting their logo on the portal's homepage or on INSMEnews) and at INSME events
Right to attend for free the INSME Annual Meeting and other INSME related events (workshops, site visits, etc.)
Right to vote and attend the Annual General Assembly (each Member of the INSME Association is entitled to have a number of votes depending on its membership status and members' typology. For Full Members the number of votes ranges from 8 to 5)
Free participation in the INSME International Training Activities
Free access to all information and General Services provided by the Association Secretariat
Access to all sections of the Members Area of the INSME portal (including all training material and database of experts' CVs)
- Associate Members
Access to all General Services and statndard information
Right of entry to some sections of the Members Area of the INSME portal
Right to vote and attend Meetings of the General Assembly
Associate Members are not eligible to the post of the governing bodies of the Association
- Observers
Access to those General Services available in the Public Area of the INSME portal
Right of entry only to a few sections of the Member’s Area of the INSME portal
Right to attend Meetings of the General Assembly
Right to vote only in relation to the Association’s budget and amendments to the Statute, although they are not eligible to vote for or be elected to the governing bodies of the Association

Membership Fees are:
For Governmental bodies (at national or sub-national level)
Full Members:
- OECD Country* governmental bodies: 5,000 Euro
- non-OECD Country governmental bodies: 1,250 Euro
Associate Members:
- OECD Country* governmental bodies: 2,000 Euro
- non-OECD Country governmental bodies: 750 Euro
Observers:
- OECD Country* governmental bodies: 250 Euro
- non-OECD Country governmental bodies: 150 Euro
For International Governmental Organisations
- Free membership as a Honorary Member (they can choose to be Full Members or Observers) with no financial implication from their side
For International NGOs, Network/Association of Intermediaries/Business Association, Individual intermediary/Business Support Organisation, Private Organisation/ Foundation/Other.

* The OECD Contries are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States Full Members and Associate Members can also contribute in kind or partly cash and partly in-kind, that is by collaborating with the Association Secretariat in the carrying out of its activities. In this case they are considered Operative Members.
For example, in kind contribution can be made through:
- the secondment of part-time or full-time staff to the INSME Secretariat for a period;
- co-hosting a meeting of the Association Governing Bodies or other events organised by the INSME Association (including training programmes or information days);
- collaboration from a distance providing information for specific thematic sections of the INSME portal (e.g. act as chair and moderator of a Thematic Working Group);
- providing publications, equipment (i.e. information booth, videoconference or training centre facilities) and any other information material and assistance that could be useful for the scope of the INSME, for increasing its visibility worldwide (including use of the INSME logo and information in their newsletter or publications), for lobbying to find new Members, partners and/or sponsors;
- Membership exchange (the granting of Membership in the INSME Association in exchange for Membership in an equivalent organisation).
